Thomas Everett Johnson, 72, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Thomas was born March 10, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Everett True Johnson and Elizabeth Purvis Johnson. He grew up in Speedway, IN, graduated from the University of Kentucky and attended graduate school at the Medical School of South Carolina. Tom moved to Phenix City, AL about 40 years ago to practice Physical Therapy. He retired around three years ago due to his declining health. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Joanne Johnson, who died way too young due to an undiagnosed heart condition, and older brother Edwin P. Johnson who passed in 1994.
He is survived by his sister, Mary E. Johnson of Raleigh, NC, five nephews, one niece, four great-nieces, one great-nephew, several other great-great nieces and nephews. Tom spent many years with his dearest and best friend Carol Witt Letlow, who brought him love, laughter, friendship and undying loyalty.
