Thomas Childs, 70, of Columbus, died Wednesday October 16, 2019 at Rivertowne Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday October 21, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA., with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Childs was born April 3, 1949 to the late Joseph Thomas Childs and Clara Bell Jordan Russell Childs. He worked in the maintenance department as a painter with the Medical Center in Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Brian Keith Childs and Timothy Adam Childs, brothers, Bobby Joe Childs, Harold Childs, Terry Childs, sister, Elizabeth Muggenburgh.
Survivors include his wife, Christia A. Childs, son Thomas Childs, Jr., daughter Miranda Baus (Aaron), sister, Faye James all of Columbus, GA, Judy Lancaster of Atlanta, GA, Ellen Mickle (Danny Wayne) of Ohio, brothers, Mike Childs (Vicky) of Harris County, GA, Earl Childs (Gail) of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Kyndal Morlan, Caden Childs, Donavan Godwin, Alyssa Godwin, Charleigh Childs, Bailey Childs, great grandaughter, Stella Boisclair.
