Thomas Joel Brown, 74, of Columbus died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.
Mr. Brown was born June 26, 1936 in Columbus, GA son of the late T. J. Brown and Mary Bazemore Brown. He graduated from Auburn University with a teaching degree in Art. He taught Art at Columbus Jr. High School. He loved to read books and he loved his cats. He also loved spending time with his wife who he affectionately called "Noni".
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son Greg Beddow.
Survivors include his wife Gloria "Skipper" Brown of Columbus, GA; daughters, Robin Sands (Hal) of Cataula, GA, Susan Kirk (Gary) of Woodstock, GA and Jan Carlisle (Roger Phillips) of Roswell, GA; sister, Sharon Rhodes of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Amy Keating, Tiffany Rose, Ashley Ivester, Lindsay Gimblet, Leslie Carr, Kristin Sands, Carson Sands and Brett Beddow; six great grandchildren and special friend, Barbara Jenkins of Phenix City, AL.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to PAWS Humane Society, P. O. Box 8964, Columbus, GA 31908.
