Theresa born was born May 20, 1955, in Stuttgart, Germany to Gwendolyn Crain and the late Leonard D. Crain Sr. Her life was a journey of joy, dedication, and boundless generosity. She was a cherished soul whose legacy of kindness has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Theresa's family eventually settled in Columbus, Georgia, where she would become a beloved member of the community. With her passing, Theresa leaves behind her devoted spouse Greg Starns, her loving children: son David Terrell (Linda), son, Samuel Terrell, daughter, Misty Sidebottom (Jonathan). Her life was further enriched by the laughter and love of her seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her mother, Gwendolyn Crain, will continue to carry Theresa's spirit in her heart, as will Theresa's siblings: sister, Linda Riley (Don), brother, Leonard Crain Jr. (Brenda), brother, Michael Crain (Judy), sister, Carol Noell, sister, Gwen Pigg (Ronny), and brother, Dan Crain Sr. (Janice) sister-in-laws, Patty Crain, Lucille Crain and Monika Crain. Theresa was greeted in heaven by her father, Leonard D. Crain Sr., and brothers, Harry, Larry, and Ricky Crain.
For 24 years, Theresa dedicated her life to the education and nurturing of three and four-year-olds at local Christian preschools. She took great pride in shaping young minds and was a guiding light for both her students and their families. Her patience, wisdom, and gentle spirit made her a favorite among the children and a respected colleague.
Theresa's zest for life was apparent in her numerous interests and activities. She was an avid traveler, finding joy in new experiences and the beauty of the world around her. Family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she relished in making biscuits at family breakfasts, cheering on her grandson at hockey games, visiting her grandchildren in Missouri, and imparting her wisdom onto her granddaughters. Theresa's love extended to her friends with whom she enjoyed playing Bunco, and to her siblings and in-laws during their cherished camping trips. Summers were a special time spent with her mother and family at the cabin in Panama City Beach, Florida, where the sun, sand, and sea provided a backdrop for unforgettable memories.
Selfless, loving, and faith-filled are words that best describe Theresa. Her life was a testament to the power of giving, and she embodied the essence of the well-known quote by Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Theresa's small acts of great love created a mosaic of kindness that will continue to inspire those she touched.
Theresa's unwavering faith was a driving force in her life, guiding her through life's ups and downs with grace and fortitude. She was a woman who lived by example, teaching not only through her words but more importantly through her actions.
