Theresa Ann Kelly
May 9, 1932 — September 8, 2018
Theresa Ann Kelly was born May 9, 1932 and entered the church triumphant on September 8, 2018. She was the widow of Robert Eugene (Gene) Kelly and the daughter of Otis Felton and Eunice Murphy Roberts.
She grew up, married and raised her children in Sherwood Presbyterian Church and was a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church. She was honored to serve the Lord as an ordained elder in both of these congregations. She graduated from Jordon Vocational High School and attended Columbus State University. She retired from AFLAC after 25 years of employment and loved being a part of this company from its very beginning. She was a member of the Golden Girls (graduates of JVHS) and volunteered for Columbus Hospice.
She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Eugene Kelly of Columbus, GA and Rev. Dr. Robert Gary Kelly (Martha) of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren Bruce Eugene "Buddy" Kelly Jr. (Anne Marie) and great-granddaughters Katelyn (6) and Ava (3) of Atlanta GA, Sean Patrick Kelly (Whitney) of Charleston, SC, John Chandler Kelly, of Huntsville, AL, and Mary Katherine Kelly Price (Matt) of Knoxville, TN; sister Gloria Elzworth (Elden) of Waverly Hall; nieces Bonnie Boyle (Charlie), Cheryl Crawford, and Karen Cannady, and her close and loving friends Faye Lee, Joyce Davis and Rae Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at Edgewood Presbyterian Church, 3617 Macon Road, Columbus, Ga. at 2:00 pm Tuesday September 11, 2018 with the Rev. Dr. George Haugen officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall prior to the service at 1:00pm. A brief committal service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Edgewood Presbyterian Church or Columbus Hospice.
