Thelma McNeil, 85, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at Beallwood Baptist Church at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, with reverend Billy Duncan officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ms. McNeil was born September 8, 1930 in Dale County, AL to the late James and Myrtle Kelly Kornegay. She was a retired 911 operator and was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert Eugene McNeil, Jr.; siblings, Clara West, Amos Kornegay, Flossie Clark, Evelyn McGuffey, James Kornegay, Harold Kornegay, Reba Singleton, Bobby Kornegay and half-brother, Dudley Kornegay.
Survivors include her brother, Frank Kornegay (Jean); half-brother and -sisters, Jonah Kornegay (Jan), Rena Harrison (Jimmy), and Martha Helon Woodham; grandchildren, Sean McNeil, and Lois McNeil; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Beallwood Baptist Church Building Fund.
