Thelma Lucille Jones, 101, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Judy Hay officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born October 3, 1914 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late William Owen Monroe and Ellen Sturges Monroe. She worked at Eastern Heights Baptist Church as a daycare provider.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Jones, son, Ronnie Jones and daughter, Patricia Jones Koch.
Survivors include her two sons, Melvin Jones (Wylene) and Larry Jones (Joyce), sister, Catherine Hightower, son-in-law, Clement Koch, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
