Terry W. Gaddis

October 7, 1962 – January 15, 2021

Terry Gaddis, age 58, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 surrounded by his family.  He was born October 7, 1962 at Fort Benning, Georgia to Robert and Naomi Gaddis.  He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Justin Gaddis.  He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Renee Pruitt Gaddis; daughter Erika Anderson (Jacob) and son Jake Gaddis (Kevin); two grandsons: Hayes and Sam Anderson; brothers: Robert Gaddis (Dawn), Tim Gaddis (Patti), David Gaddis (Evelyn); sisters: Susan Goodman (Billy), Kaye Gaddis, Tracy Reid (Marty); numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry was a graduate of Kendrick High School and attended Columbus Technical College.  He married the love of his life, Renee, on February 21, 1987 and together they raised three beautiful children. He was an elevator mechanic for Elevator Service Company, which later became Oracle Elevator, for 30 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed supporting his favorite teams The Alabama Crimson Tide, the Atlanta Braves, and the Dallas Cowboys. He spent many years coaching little league baseball at Pioneer Little League and coaching and mentoring his son, Justin, from a young age through his years at Northside High School.  After Justin’s graduation from high school, they spent many years as teammates on the softball field. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, T-Paw and friend. One of his proudest moments was becoming a grandfather and there is nothing he cherished more than his grandsons.  He taught his children the importance of working hard, but also the importance of having fun. Terry loved life, loved his family, and was especially proud of his children. While Terry will be dearly missed by all who knew him, we find peace knowing that he is reunited with Justin and that he left us with great memories to cherish.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Terry’s sister-in-law, Robin Stubbs, for her compassion, care, and support over the past few years.

A private family visitation will be held with a memorial planned for a later date.
