Stephen E. Wilson
December 7, 1942 — March 8, 2018
It is with sadness that the family of Stephen E. Wilson, Sr., known to some as "Steve," of Cataula, GA announces his passing after a long struggle with a lung disease, on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 75.
Mr. Wilson was born December 7, 1942 in Montgomery, AL son of Harvey Edward Wilson and Mary Frances Law Wilson.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Shaun Todd Trussell.
He was a graduate of the University of Alabama, a U.S. Army Veteran and spent many years as co-owner of Wilson Oil Company and developing the Big Cat Convenience store brand. He was a member of the River of Life of Hamilton Church.
Stephen will be loving remembered by his wife, Glenda Wilson of Cataula, GA, brother, Michael Wilson (Darlene), children, Mary Jane Trussell, Stephen E. Wilson, Jr. (Tina), Stephanie Erica Treadwell (Allen), grandchildren, Erica Nicole Wilson, Stephen Aidan Allen Treadwell, step-children, Thomas Bradley Dyson (Teresa), Leslie Nicole Bottoms, and Brian Paul Bottoms (Molly), step-grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Garrett and Lexie Reed Garrett, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Mark Jenkins and Pastor Dan Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
