Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at MCoE Main Post Chapel in Ft. Benning, GA with Chaplain Jonathan Melindez officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA.
SSG Reyna was born January 24, 1978 in Miami, Florida son of Ramiro Reyna of Homestead, FL and Yolonda Olmos of San Benito, TX. He was a SSG in the U. S. Army having served for 15 years with 3 tours to Iraq. SSG Reyna's decorations include seven Army Commendation Medals, 10 Army Achievement Medals, an Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, five Army Good Conduct Medals, an Air Force Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Medal, four Iraq Campaign Metals, a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, an Army Service Ribbon, five Oversees Service Ribbons, a Combat Action Badge and an Air Assault Badge.
Survivors other than his parents include his wife, Mary R. Reyna of Ft. Benning, GA; daughter Elia Mireya Reyna of Ft. Benning, GA; son, Roberto Reyna, Jr. of Ft. Benning, GA; sisters, Sandra Pena (Jorge) and Elsa Reyna-Espitia (Jose) both of Los Fresnos, TX and Maribel Saldivar (Hector) of Harlingen, TX; brother, Ramiro Reyna, Jr. (Rosa) of Ft. Myers, FL; maternal grandfather, Arturo Olmos of Brownsville, TX , paternal grandfather, Guadalupe Reyna of Homestead, FL and several nieces and nephews.
