Special Agent Teresa Ann Hudson

Special Agent Teresa Ann Hudson, 60, passed away August 31, 2022 in Wedowee, AL.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Columbus, 212 12th Street Columbus, GA 31901, with Dr. James C. “Jimmy” Elder, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Teresa was born October 26, 1961 in Mobile, AL, daughter of Reverend Woodrow and Betty Hudson. Teresa was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer in November 2020. She faced the diagnosis with remarkable courage and grace. She continued to fight mightily to overcome until Our Lord called her home.  Her faith was steadfast through out this journey, it never wavered.

Teresa joined the Columbus Police Department in 1985 and had several promotions with the CPD throughout her tenure.  She left in 1997 as a Sergeant of the motor squad to join the United States Secret Service. She started her service with the Secret Service in 1997.  Teresa understood she held a position that few have the privilege to experience, and she served with integrity.  She began in the Miami Field office investigating financial crimes.  In December of 1997, she transferred to the Clinton protective division and in 2001, Teresa moved closer to home to investigate financial crimes in the Albany field office.  In 2017, Teresa was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Carter detail and retired from the United States Secret Service in 2019.

Upon retirement, she dove into her passion of golf. She became a member of the Ladies Golf Association and enjoyed spending time and playing the game with her golf friends. She loved the game, but her faith and family always, came first.

Survivors include her parents, Reverend Woodrow Hudson and Betty Hudson; sister, Lisa Hudson; brother, Kevin Hudson (Gaye); niece, Reagan Hudson; nephews, Tyler Lipham and Connor Lipham.
