Solomon A. Love, 88 of Columbus died Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Columbus Hospice House.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 10 till 11 A.M., at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. A visitation will be held from 2 till 3 P.M., Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Blakely Cemetery, Blakely, GA with Rev. Don Callaway and Mr. Virgil Thompson officiating.

Mr. Love was born August 7, 1922 in Love Town (Ashford, AL), son of the late Charlie Arthur and Della Watson Love. Moved to Cedar Springs and attended Hilton School and then moved to Blakely, GA. Finished school at Jakin, GA in 1942. Started working at Colonial Baking Company in 1948 in Dothan, AL and retired as president of Colonial Baking Company in 1993 in Columbus, GA. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1944-1945. He was of the Assembly of God Faith.

Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvie Love, Silas (Doris) Love, Buford Love and Clifford (Verna Mae) Love; brother-in-law of Carl O. Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Emma Juanita Moore Love; sister, Effie (Ralph) Horne of Iron City, GA; sisters-in-law Mary D. Green of Dothan, AL and Mary Love of Albany, GA and numerous other family and friends.

Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1382, Columbus, GA 31902 or your favorite charity.
