(Ret.) U.S. Air Force SMSGT Danny J. Mitchell, 68, of Richland, GA died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation and memorial services at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Richland Baptist Church, Walker St, Richland GA. A private burial at a later date.
SMSGT Mitchell served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1993. He was stationed on Guam, Warner Robins, GA, Ramstein, Germany and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
Danny was a member of American Legion Post 128 and Richland Volunteer Fire Department, NRA, GA Sheriffs Association, and St Charles Sportsman club in Waldorf Maryland and many other organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sheriff Bob Mitchell and Jewell Davis Mitchell; brother, Robert Mitchell, Jr; nephew, Robert Mitchell, III and father-in-law, George Bridges
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy (Bridges) Mitchell; children, Danny Mitchell, II (Valerie) and Tammy Sebolao (Tony); grandchildren, Elizabeth Mitchell, Kyle Sebolao and Kayla Sebolao; sister, Kay Mitchell (Jack); cousins, Marcia Hollensbe (Hank) and Nancy Davis; sister-in- law, Anne Bennett (George) and mother-in-law, Mary Bridges.
In lieu of flowers a tax deductible donation to American Legion Post 128, Box 353, Richland GA 31825 is requested.
