Shirley Ann "Annie" McGowan , of Fortson, GA, died Sunday, April 26 , 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Udell Addison officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. McGowan was born April 13, 1957 in Calhoun, GA, daughter of Edress Smith Nelson and the late Dennis Nelson. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was the former business manager for Quality One HVAC Inc. and former office manager for Hughes Supply Inc.
Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Susie Jones and a nephew, Cullen Johnson.
Survivors other than her mother include her husband, Terry W. McGowan of Forston, GA; daughter, Shannon Pinkley (William) of Clarksville, TN; sister, Lynn Nelson of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two brothers, Doug Smith of Chatsworth, GA and Robert Nelson of Woodland, GA; five grandchildren, Blake Thomas (Shanna), Taylor Childs, Logan Coley, Lauren Pinkley and Noah Pinkley; one great-grandchild, Kameron Thomas; and her beloved pets, Princess, Sissy, Angel, and Hershey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or the CJ Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Beach Church in Jacksonville Beach, FL.
