Shirley Faye Cook Jenkins, 87 of Columbus, GA died Saturday, June 29, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Wednesday July 3, 2024 at Parkhill Cemetery, Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. The family will have a visitation 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday June 2, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Shirley was born July 6, 1936 in Buena Vista, GA to the late Willie Howell Cook and Annie Lee Helms Cook. During her career as the office clerk at Swift Mills she made many long lasting friends with her co-workers and members of former Eastwood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Edmond H. Jenkins. Brothers: Hamer Cook and Clarence Lee Cook, Sisters: Louise Lynch and Mary Nell Lutz.
Survivors include her sons: Barry Jones and Reggie Jones both of Harris County, GA. Brothers: Lanier Cook and Ferrell Cook both of Buena Vista, GA., granddaughter: Kimberly Pesley and grandson: Christopher Jones.
