Shirley Ann (Ledford) Bowers

Shirley Ann Ledford Bowers, 82, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, July 9, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mrs. Bowers was born November 28, 1940 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Charlie and Margaret Reid Ledford. She retired from Muscogee County School District as a bus driver. Shirley was a member of Glenn Anthony Baptist Church. She loved to watch the Atlanta Braves, listening to John Denver songs, playing solitaire, candy crush, and loved gardening.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Bowers; son, Ronnie Bowers; brothers, Charlie Ledford, WalderLedford, and Robert Ledford.

Survivors include her children, Rick Bowers (Jennifer) of Midland, GA, Cheryl Bowers of Columbus, GA; brother-in-law, Jerry Parker (Gayle) of Headland, AL; grandchildren, Nick Bowers (Nicole) of Smith Station, AL, Rick Bowers, Jr. (Hayley) of Smith Station, AL, Dusty Bowers (Becca) of Wetumpka, AL, Stephanie Bowers Culberson (Corey) of Ft. Mitchell, AL; great-grandchildren; Ricky Bobby Bowers of Phenix City, AL, Addison Bowers of Smith Station, AL, Aubrey Bowers of Smith Station, AL, Ava Bowers of Smith Station, AL, Roman Bowers of Wetumpka, AL, Rhett Bowers of Wetumpka, AL, Ryatt Bowers of Smith Station, AL; and a grand dog, Harley.
