Sharon Janelle Hudgins Clauson, 54, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Clauson was born December 7, 1964 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Sen. Floyd Hudgins and Margie Hand Hudgins. She worked as a Security Operator for Central Signaling Security. She performed in and loved acting in various plays at the Springer Opera House such as the Wizard of Oz, Bye Bye Birdie and the Sound of Music.
Her hobbies included writing songs, listening to music and singing. Mrs. Clauson sang the National Anthem and God Bless America many times at Golden Park and South Commons. She also sang in the choir at Cusseta United Methodist Church. She loved the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Tech and loved her family and friends.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Tyson Hudgins and Michael N. Hudgins.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald L. Clauson of Columbus, GA, siblings, Wayne Hudgins (Anne) of LaGrange, GA, Lynn Moore (Steve) of Lake Logan Martin, AL and Sandra Huff (Clark) of Cusseta, GA, aunts, Brenda H. Thornton of Stockbridge, GA and Betty H. Stowe of South Carolina, niece, Leslie Schorr Barker and Laura Schorr Taylor (Zach), nephews, Seth Hudgins (Melissa), Shawn Hudgins, Dustin James Hudgins, Chris Pittman and Jimmy Boykin, and many other great nieces, nephews and cousins.
