Sharifa N. Capers, 36, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Columbus, GA due to a fatal car accident.
A celebration of life service for our beloved daughter and sister will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, with Pastor Nathalee Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery 2:30 PM EST Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
Sharifa was born June 3, 1985 in Charleston, SC to Thelma and Ray Charles Capers. She graduated from Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, GA. Her educational training beyond high school included DeVry University and Griffin Tech training. She enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Cyber Intelligent Specialist. Upon leaving the military and re-entry into civilian life, Sharifa was employed as a Pharmacy Tech at both Veteran Hospital in Gainsville, FL and Ft. Benning, GA.
She leaves to mourn: her parents, Thelma and Ray Charles Capers; brother, Gabriel, grandmother, Viola Capers, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
