Shannon Lane Benefield, 51, of Pine Mountain, GA died Monday, October 9, 2023 at his residence.
A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Shannon was born May 8, 1972 in Spartanburg, SC, and raised by Gail and Thomas Benefield. After graduating high school, he began a rewarding career in the dental field. He also spent a brief time as a caretaker, where he enjoyed helping others. His family remembers him as a hard worker that enjoyed mowing grass and cooking in his off time. Shannon enjoyed cooking for friends and family any chance he got; especially grilling. When he wasn't listening to audiobooks while he worked, he could be found taking a ride on his motorcycle and listening to rock music.
He is survived by his parents, Gail and Thomas Benefield; son, Michael Benefield (Rachel); daughter, Kayla Colon (Vega); sister, Terri Russell(Chance); sister, Shannan Dye (Bill); and his partner Sharon Hall-Kinny and many loving family members and friends.
