SGT (Ret.) Richard A. Marshall, 37 of Smiths Station, AL died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 19, 2013 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Vernon Prather officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA and following the service at Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church, 6304 Lynridge Ave. Columbus, GA 31909.
SGT (Ret.) Marshall was born July 1, 1976 in Claremore, Oklahoma son of Andrea Walker Herrod and Sam T. Marshall. He was retired from U. S. Army having served in Iraq. He was a member of Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the VFW in Eufaula, OK.
Survivors include his mother and step father Andrea and Gene Herrod; father, Sam T. Marshall all of Eufaula, OK; wife of 13 years Brittany C. Marshall of Smiths Station, AL; daughter Autumn Brooke Marshall of Smiths Station, AL; son, Jalen Allen Marshall of Smiths Station, AL; sisters, Sammi Marshall and Kelli Beaver both of Eufaula, OK and Shelbi Marshall of Muldrow, OK; brothers, Guymon Marshall of Checotah, OK and Derrick Marshall of Indianola, OK and father and mother-in-law, Dana and Jenny Carver of Midland, GA.
