SGM (RET) Ricardo Rocha, 94, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2024 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Ft. Moore Main Post cemetery at a later date.
Ricardo was born May 17, 1930 in Refugio, Tx, son of the late Pablo Rocha and Senovia Rodriguez Rocha. His family ran a horse and cattle ranch. Ricardo and his brother David chose to serve in the U.S. Army, both served in the Korean War and Vietnam conflicts.
Other than his parents, Ricardo was preceded in death by his wife, Michiko; his brothers, David Rocha, Robert Rocha; son-in-law, Randy Kiel; and his black lab, Tucker.
Survivors include his children, Montajean Kiel of Columbus, GA, Bobby Rocha (Susan) of Opelika, AL; Richard Rocha, Jr (Elizabeth) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Austin Kiel of Columbus, GA, Bobby Kiel of Columbus, GA, Richard A. Rocha (Vivian) of Nashville, TN, Joseph Rocha (Kerry) of Nashville, TN, Christopher Rocha (Anne Elise) of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Henderson (Jeromy) of Nashville, TN; and six great grandchildren.
