Sfc Perry Robert Scott

SFC., U.S. Army (Ret.), Perry Robert Scott, 90, of Columbus, GA. Died Dec. 8, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. 31907. A private follow interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Dr. Hal Brady, Rev. Helen Berenthien and Rev. David Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Scott was born Feb. 9, 1919, son of the late Oscar Bland Scott and the late Alice Dale Scott in Buena Vista, GA. He was retired from the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class. He served in World War II and Korea. He then went to work for St. Francis Hospital as a dietician and chef and then worked for Columbus Country Club as a chef for fifteen years, before retiring again. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Bowden Henderson Scott, his sisters, Nina Crawford and Nellie Norrell and his brothers, Buddy Scott and Arthur Bland Scott.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol Henderson, of Columbus, GA., and Sharon Henderson Bunn and son in law Gene of Columbus, GA. , a sister Thelma Melton, Dublin, GA., two brothers Garnet Scott (Dot), Columbus, GA., and Billy Scott (Chako), Columbus, GA., and several nieces and nephews.
