SFC (Ret.) Thomas Patrick Dennis, 80 of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Phenix City Healthcare.
Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 11, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Terry Parish officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 613 14th St. Phenix City, AL 36867.
SFC (Ret.) Dennis was born November 8, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA son of the late Michael Francis Dennis and Marie Catherine Haenni Dennis. He retired after 20 years from the U. S. Army having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a former member of the VFW Post 5228 in Smiths Station, AL. He was of the Catholic faith, he loved to play cards, go bowling and fishing. He loved his two dogs Duke and Dutchess
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wives, Betty Sutley Dennis and Hilda M. Dorrill Dennis, daughter Lola Moon and son, James Oliver Caudill.
Survivors include his children: Mac Carroll (Floyd) of Florence, AL, Peggy McLendon (Alfred) of Phenix City, AL, Martha Adams (Billy) of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Eva Mitchell of Seale, AL, Rita Parish (Terry) of Phenix City, AL and Danny Dorrill of Phenix City, AL; fifteen grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren and brother, Francis Dennis (Patricia) of Simpsonville, SC.
