Hector Ayala Andujar, 80, of Columbus, GA died Friday, February 14. 2014 at his residence.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Andujar was born October 30, 1933 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, son of the late Francisco Marin Baez and Francisca Andujar Cintron. He retired from the U. S. Army after 28 years of service, serving as a sniper in Vietnam and receiving numerous awards. After retiring, he worked as a correctional officer and later retired as a counselor with the Columbus Diversion Center.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Andujar.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth V. Andujar of Columbus, GA; his sons, John C. Andujar, Jose M. Andujar (Melissa) and Robbie L. Andujar all of Columbus, GA, and six grandchildren.
