Selena R. Parker, 85, of Columbus, GA died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Spring Harbor.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Edgewood Presbyterian Church 3617 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Paul Coates and Reverend Barry Ferguson officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Parker was born October 11, 1925 in Paris Island, SC daughter of the late Paul V. and Vara Waddell Riggins. She was a homemaker and a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, (Ret.) Lt. Col. Robert L. Parker.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia P. Robinson and son-in-law, Lewis of McDonough, GA and Jennifer P. Kirbas and son-in-law, Reverend Paul Kirbas of Wheaton, IL, sons, Robert L. Parker, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Patricia of Columbus, GA, Richard P. Parker and daughter-in-law, Pamela of Columbus, GA, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Edgewood Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice.
