Sara Janet Brooks Wilkerson, 90 of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Living Grace Church, 3969 Edgewood Circle, Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Buddy Cooper and John Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Janet was born July 3, 1934 in Williston, FL to the late, Nathaniel Oliver Brooks and Sara Eugene Shierling Brooks.As a child, her family moved to Columbus where she graduated from Baker High School in 1952. She was a loving, steadfast wife and family was her primary focus. She was a mother figure and along with her husband, a parent figure, to so many friends that were a part of her life.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Robert “Bobby” Perry Wilkerson, daughters: Robin Wilkerson Beatty (Doug) of Marietta, GA, Kelly Wilkerson Kunkle of Columbus, GA, son: Robert David Wilkerson (Elisa) also of Columbus, GA. Grandchildren: Jill Beatty New (Jonathan), John Douglas Beatty (Jessica), William “Bill” Joseph Martin (Lauren), Brooke Kunkle Greenlee (Anthony), Robert Stuart Wilkerson (Natalie), Shannon Riley Hopkins (Taylor) and loving/caring niece Diane “Dee Dee” Haywood, eight great grandchildren, 2 nieces and nephew and a loving Church family.
