Sara Nell Crow, 83, of Columbus died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Vista Care Hospice at Franciscan Woods.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013, 2:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Crow was born in Indian Mound, TN and was the daughter of the late Ivan and Nannie Byrd Lewis. Mrs. Crow worked as a surgical nurse in Clarksville, TN where she met her beloved husband of 59 years who was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY. She enjoyed being a military wife and the travel to places like Augsburg, Germany and Ft. Richardson, AK. As an avid tennis player, playing well into her sixties, she continued to walk Cooper Creek Park to keep an eye and ear on the tennis games played there.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Rebecca, Birdie and Janie Lewis and one brother Ivan Lewis, Jr.
Survivors include her husband Loyd G. Crow, Jr. Three sons, Loyd G. Crow III (Mitzi) of Midland, GA; Gregory E. Crow (Lisa) of Talbot County, GA; Donald W. Crow (Cheryl) of Columbus, GA; one sister, Margie Shepherd of Clarksville, TN and four grandchildren, Chandler L. Crow of Midland, GA; Carly Carroll, Drake McJunkin and Ashley Watson of Columbus, GA.
