Sandra Fay Heath Elkins

Sandra Fay Heath Elkins, 80, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living surrounded by loved ones.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2024 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Blaxton officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Monday, April 29, 2024 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Sandra was born August 31, 1943 in Columbus, GA and was the daughter of the late Grady Heath and Lois Chapman Heath. She retired from Davenport Transfer (Atlas Van Lines) after spending 44 years managing the office’s day-to-day operations. Sandra enjoyed traveling to Mississippi and Alabama to visit casinos with her late husband and weekend girl’s road trips to outlet malls across the state of Georgia.  She could not pass up on a good deal, especially thrift finds. She loved keeping up with the newest home decor trends and enjoyed finding unique pieces of yard art. Upon retirement, most of Sandra’s time was spent gardening to maintain the most beautiful yard in Willowbrook. If weather prevented her from being outdoors, she could be found solving word search puzzles.

Other than her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Joseph Elkins.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Roy (Charles) of Midland, GA; sister, Frances Worrell (Marvin) of Seale, AL; grandchildren, Mallory Bosco (Kyle) of Waverly Hall, GA, Braxton Roy of Midland, GA; great grandchildren, Griffin and Abigail Bosco of Waverly Hall, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Sandra’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living for the compassionate care they provided throughout the duration of her stay as well as the nursing staff with Gentiva Hospice, who ensured Sandra had a peaceful transition.
