Sandra Johnson Cottrell, 60, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Edgewood Assembly of God 2020 Morris Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Charles Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests yellow roses and to please have all flowers delivered to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Sandra was born December 19, 1955 in Almore, AL daughter of Christine Sowell of Mobile, AL and the late Millard Lamar Johnson. She was a homemaker and was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God.
Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, David L. Cottrell of Columbus, GA, mother, Christine Sowell of Mobile, AL, son, Nicholas Cottrell (Gail) of Winter Haven, FL, daughter, Crystal Myers (Jason) of St. Louis, MO, and her sister, Sheila Hogan (Randy) of Mobile, AL.
Sandra possessed "a spirit that is not afraid". Through the strength of her unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ her spirit was never broken and she met her Savior with a heart that was at peace.
