Sandra Ann Metts Bock, 74, of Midland, GA, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at New Griffin Baptist Church in Alapaha, GA with Rev. David Helms officiating. Interment will be held in New Griffin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 and Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Church.
Mrs. Bock was born March 1, 1943 in Ocilla, GA, daughter of the late Otis Metts and Blannie Harper Metts. She was a member of New Griffin Baptist Church in Alapaha, GA, and attended Bethesda Baptist Church. Working for years at Belk Matthews in Vidalia, Ga , she worked as the Personnel Manager. Sandra was an active committee member of the Toombs County Training Center in Lyons, GA. , where her son Greg attended for years.
She is remembered as being a strong, compassionate loving mother and grandmother. Her family is comforted by knowing she is at peace.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Keith Whitley, daughter, Janet Lynne Bock and siblings, Elsie Metts Crawley, Thelma Metts Klages, Emogene Metts Martin, and Autrey Metts.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, William Bock of Midland, GA; children, Paul Whitley (Stephanie) of Ailey, GA, Nancy Whitley Crane (Shawn) of Hamilton, GA, and
Michael William Bock (Charlene) of Corning, NY; sister, Latrelle Metts Heath (Thomas) of Alapaha, GA; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
