SFC (Ret) Samuel K. Shugart, 60, of Smiths Station, AL died Wednesday June 3, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held 2:00 PM Saturday June 6, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
SFC (Ret) Shugart was born September 27, 1954 in Dennison, OH to Norma R. George Shugart of Ohio and the late Dean A. Shugart. He retired from the U.S. Army. He later worked with Buffalo Rock Bottling Company as a service technician. He was in the Silver Wings Command Exhibition Parachute Team, member of the U.S. Parachute Association, and was a Jump Master. Blue Skys!
He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Michael Shugart.
Survivors other than his mother include his daughters, Jamie Shugart Breeding (Mark) of Taswell, IN and Kristina Shugart Howard (Greg) of Princeton, IN, brothers, Gary Shugart (Helen), Roy Shugart (Barbara), and Allen Shugart (Debbie) all of Ohio, grandchildren, Hunter Rowland, Sarah Breeding, and Jersalem Howard, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
