She was born on April 23, 1990 in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of Michael and Jane Worthington. Samantha was a beautiful woman with many talents and interests. She loved to be artistic with ink, music and the written word. From the time she was two, Samantha engaged with people of any age or culture, bestowing kindness, smiles and genuine interest in their well being. She touched countless lives with her energy, love and laughter. The love of her life was her daughter, Penelope Jane. She only sought the best people to be involved in her daughter's life. Sam made sure Penelope began learning Spanish from the time she was three weeks old. She devoted her life to Penelope's care and health. The laughter between the two of them was abundant and infectious.

Samantha was well known for her amazing stories. Stories only she could tell, write and create. Stories which were unbelievable, but true. Jumping onto the ferry in San Francisco leaving behind her grandmother and aunt searching for her at Alcatraz Island when she was only ten. Sneaking her babysitter's car keys from under her pillow late one night to thankfully be stopped by two kind policemen who only pulled her over because her headlights were off. Not because she was thirteen, because they insisted she was sixteen. Going behind the customer service desk at the Field Museum in Chicago and assisting visitors at the age of nine. So many stories she shared with her beloved brother Ben, their laughter together was contagious. Endless stories to tell and endless stories to be heard.

Samantha is preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth C. and Jane P. Hoffman, Samuel W. Worthington III, her great grandparents Samuel W. and Mary Worthington, Jr., Olin L. and Maude Guthrie and her uncle, Samuel W. Worthington, IV. Samantha is survived by her daughter Penelope Jane Worthington of Chicago, IL , her brother Michael Benjamin Worthington of Austin Texas, her mother Jane Hoffman Worthington of Chicago IL., her father Michael Olin Worthington (Kathleen) of Midland, GA., her grandparents Lynda Guthrie Worthington, John Michael and Karen Taylor of Columbus GA., numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who meant the world to Samantha.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her relationship with God was very important and she is now in his care.
