Sally Baugh Ogletree Buck, 95, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2023 at St. Luke Church with Rev. Dick Reese officiating. A private interment will be held at the Buck Family Cemetery.

Sally was born July 16, 1927 in Salisbury, Maryland, daughter of the late Sally Tignall Baugh and Robert Baugh. She lived in Elkton, Tennessee, and spent summers with her grandparents in Onancock on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Sally’s family moved to Columbus, Georgia where she attended Columbus High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. Sally graduated from Shorter College where she was voted May Day Queen and served as the Editor of the Shorter College Annual. Sally returned to Columbus and married Bill Ogletree and they had three children. Sally was widowed at a very young age.

Sally remarried Harold “Bo” Buck, who had three children. Sally had more than enough love and patience to spread among her combined family, and later she was a steadfast and loving grandmother and great grandmother.

Sally was a faithful member of St. Luke Church for over 80 years and was a charter member of the prayer group and chairman of the prayer ministry. She especially enjoyed serving on the Altar Guild and the Food Pantry at St. Luke Church and volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

Sally enjoyed traveling, bridge on Wednesdays with her cherished friends, spending time at Lake Juniper and vacationing with her family on the gulf coast.

Other than her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her first husband, William Emmett Ogletree, second husband, Harold Dodd Buck, sister, Elizabeth Baugh Haley and step-son, Harold Dodd Buck, Jr.

Sally is survived by her children, Sally Ogletree Baber (Jack), Judy Ogletree Binion (Mack), William Robert Ogletree (Nann), Perry Bickerstaff Buck (Donna), Brent Ansley Buck (Becky), grandchildren, Anna Binion Mayeske (Jon), John Lafayette Baber, IV, Mack Bruner Binion, IV (Hadley), William Carter Baber, William Robert Ogletree, Jr. Joseph Gullatte Hunter, IV (Ashley), Truett Barber Fink (Adam), Alfred Ray Barber (Christine), Peyton Buck Profitt (Kyle), Regan Buck Coppedge (Brad), Donald Weston Oates (Leigh Ann), Mark Samuel Oates, Phoebe Elisabeth Oates, Emily Buck Trotter (Jim), Elizabeth Ansley Buck, Lauren Buck Bryant (Justin), Brent Andrew Buck (Cecilia), 25 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Sally’s family is appreciative of the years of loving care and the support provided by her devoted caregiver and friend, Barbara Lowe.
