Sakae Tsunashima Coon, 85, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at her home.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service according to the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Coon was born May 10, 1925 in Okayama, Japan. She worked as a seamstress for the Civil Service.
Survivors include his sons, Norman R. Coon of Dallas, GA, Terry A. McCune of Walkersville, MD, Arthur L. Coon of Bonita Springs, FL, George Coon of Douglasville, GA and James M. Coon of Mauk, GA, two brothers, Masaru Tsunashima of Japan and Kiyochi Tsunashima of Japan, one sister, Keiko Murota of Japan, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation 2970 Peachtree Rd. NW Suite 200 Atlanta, GA 30305.
