Ruth Tanner

Naomi Ruth Tanner, 86, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 23, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Billy Kaylor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tanner was born January 8, 1928 in Stone, KY, daughter of the late Henry Kaylor and Grace Mullins Kaylor. She was a retired school cafeteria manager for the Muscogee County School District.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James W. Tanner, an infant daughter Charlotte, and her four brothers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karen and Greg Stratford of Columbus, GA and Joy and Junior Williams of Fortson, GA; two sisters, Ann Farrar of Barboursville, WV and Betty Miller of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hines, Jim Stratford, Ashley and Lexie Williams; one great-grandchild, Ryan Hines; several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909 or American Cancer Society, 233 12th Street #710 Columbus, GA 31901.
