Ruth H. Basiliere, 88, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Reverend Gene Cook officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Basiliere was born September 19, 1922 in Germany. She was a switchboard operator for the U.S. Government. She enjoyed knitting, hiking, and skiing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E .Basiliere, Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Michaela Kalus (Werner) of Aschach, Germany, son, Hereld Schonfeld of Aschach, Germany, step son, Richard E. Basiliere (Wallette) of Phenix City, AL, step daughter, Bonnie Chambers of Phenix City, AL, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
