Rudolph Kelly Heath, Sr., 75, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 29, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bob Hawkins officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends after the service according to the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Heath was born May 31, 1934 in Columbus, GA son of the late Albert and Lucille Waldon Heath. He retired after serving 23 years from the Columbus Police Department. He also served in the Navy. Mr. Heath received his B.S. Degree from Columbus College, an Associate Degree in Science in Criminal Justice from Columbus College, and a Degree in Law from the Woodrow Wilson School of Law. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Albert Heath, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Judith "Judy" Heath of Columbus, GA, daughters, Sharon Wilkerson (Keith) of Ellerslie, GA and Jill McCain (Jay) of Richland, GA, son, Rudolph Kelly Heath, Jr. (Tabitha) of Midland, GA, brothers, Robert Heath of Columbus, GA, Roscoe Heath (Joan) of Columbus, GA and Billy Cobb of Smiths, AL, sister-in-law, Josephine Heath of Columbus, GA, and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer Association 5900 River Rd. Suite 301 Columbus, GA 31904.
