Rubie Colleen Mccranie

Rubie Colleen McCranie, 87 of Columbus, GA. died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Beallwood Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Duncan and Reverend Clark Standard officiating. A private interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.31907.
Mrs. McCranie was born August 8, 1922 in Lellie, GA. daughter to the late Horace Alonzo Deriso and Rubie Pearl Laramore Deriso. She was a homemaker, loved to sew, and was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church since 1954.She was a member of the Ruth Gleaners Sunday School Class, Circle of Love, and she also taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Columbus Christian Women's Club and the Clover Hill Garden Club. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, gran gran and a friend to everyone. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Mitchell McCranie, five sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Jacquelyn M. Hix (William) of Salem, AL,, grandson, Keith Alan Hix (Misty) of Leesburg, GA., granddaughter, Paige Hix Dewitt, (Kris) of Bogart, GA., sister, Joan D. Carter of Columbia,SC; sister in law Nona McCranie of Albany, GA. seven grandchildren , one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
