Rt. Columbus Police Officer David Alan Hall, 53 of Columbus, Ga. died Friday, November 16, 2018 in Verbena, Alabama.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Wynnbrook Baptist Church 500 River Knoll Way, Columbus, Ga. 31904 with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
David was born August 02, 1965 in Columbus, Ga. son of the late Charles L. Hall and Sara Gobets Powers. David retired in July of 2018 from the Columbus Police Department and was currently serving as the pilot for the Metro Narcotics Drug Task Force. David was a current fixed wing Certified Flight Instructor (CFI-A) in Columbus, Ga. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving as a survivalist and Life Support Specialist. For over 20 years, he has logged over 4,200 hrs instructing pilots in various aircraft types. His education includes a B.S. degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and held a Commercial Single/Multi-engine Instrument Certification.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Sonya Gobets Powers and his beloved brother Leroy Hall (Janet).
He is survived by his sisters and brothers Lona Hall of Tuscumbia, Al., Erinn Albertini (Bobby) of Woodstock, Ga, Anna Green (Russ) of Southbridge, Va., Gina Brasington (Steve) of Box Springs, Ga., Jeff Hall of Columbus, Ga. Jack Powers of Deftford, NJ., Buck Hall of Nashville, Tn., and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
