Roy Eugene Gray

Roy Eugene Gray, 79, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Columbus Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Roy was born November 24, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Lewis Gray and Lois Gray. He worked in the textile industry until he retired. He was a generous man and a wonderful provider. He was quick-witted with a unique sense of humor. He enjoyed life in a lively, lighthearted way. He was a man of many words and told the best stories. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water. He loved a good fish fry, scramble dogs, and Chicken Comers Barbeque. What he loved most of all was being a granddaddy, and even more, a great granddaddy. The memories shared with him are invaluable. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Gibson, sisters Faye Fowler, Sue Capps, Patsy Spivey, brothers, Lewis Hampton Gray, Edgar Gray, Charles Gray and special uncle, Robert Mote.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sherry Gray, daughter, Donna Lambert, granddaughter, Tiffany (John) Thomas, great-grandsons, Holton Buice, Jett Thomas and dear friend, Tom Burgess.
