Roxie Sanders Taylor, 97, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Hamilton House Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 5, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Taylor was born November 6, 1915 in Henry County, AL daughter of the late Jordan and Emma Ward Sanders. She was a homemaker and a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to cook for her family, loved gardening, cats, walking and loved her church. She was loved by all.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvy Taylor, children, Ann Taylor Marshall and Edward Earl Taylor, ten siblings, and two grandchildren, Edward Earl Taylor, Jr. and Ronald Wayne Turner.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Taylor Turner of Columbus, GA, daughter-in-law, Geraldine Taylor of Columbus, GA, granddaughter that she raised, Kathy T. Taylor (Luther) of Pensacola, FL, other grandchildren, Melissa M. Wright (Allen), Debra T. Coker (Bert), Pamela T. Randall (Steve) all of Columbus, GA, Cheryl T. Freeman (Terry) of Phenix City, AL, Chris Taylor of Columbus, GA and Jay Markert of Nashville, TN, nine great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her caregiver, Rosie Duckworth of Columbus Hospice and the staff at Hamilton House for their loving care.
