Ronald "Corky" Gibson Bell
October 6, 1957 — March 23, 2022
Ronald “Corky” Gibson Bell passed away on March 23, 2022 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital from an extended illness. A celebration of life service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, April 2, 2022 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Boulevard, Columbus, GA. A visitation with the family will follow the service.
Corky was born on October 6, 1957 in Columbus, Georgia to the late William P. and Bobbie Jean Bell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Judith V. Bell Pittman.
Corky was an avid fisherman and would talk fishing to anyone willing to listen. His love of football came close to matching his love of fishing, and all who watched games with him will attest to his overzealous, loud support for his favorite football teams. But Corky’s pride and joy was his daughter, Rebecca “Becca” Lynn Bell. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend. Corky joined the United States Navy in 1976, and was Honorably Discharged in 1982.
In addition to Becca, Corky is survived by a granddaughter, Maura Lynn Bell, and a brother Ralph Martin Bell (Jerri). He has many loving nieces and nephews.
