Ronald "Ron" Gallups

Ronald "Ron" Gallups, 67, of Valley, AL, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City, AL.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Hank Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Gallups was born June 10, 1949 in Waltham, MA, son of Omie Cook (Raymond) of Smiths, AL and the late Henry Gallups. He loved his family and friends, the game of golf and his card group. Mr. Gallups was a big jokester who loved to make people laugh. He was the owner of B& R Carpet Services.
Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Gallups; son, Christopher Gallups; daughter, Rebecca Gallups; grandson Jaxon Allen all of Valley, AL; brother, Henry Gallups (Carol); sisters, Nancy Grantham (Rodger), Trisha Smith (Dan), Tyia Dawson (Ron), Joyce Duke and Diane Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Lakewood Youth Golf 2800 Lakewood Dr. Phenix City, AL 36867.
