Ronald "Ron" Harry Anderson

Ronald "Ron" Harry Anderson, 64 of Columbus, Ga. passed away peacefully in his sleep at Columbus Hospice on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, surrounded by his wife, Debbie, and close friends. He courageously braved an almost two-year battle with cancer, willfully beating the odds at every turn.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Springer Opera House on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:30PM. Following the celebratory gathering, the family will receive friends at a reception held at the Springer according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga.
Ron was born to the late S.L. Anderson, Jr. and Maxine Ylander Anderson, in Macon, Georgia on January 28, 1952. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he met and later married his beloved wife, Debbie Pritchett Anderson, on August 19, 1978. Ron was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie and his son, Max P. Anderson. Ron is also survived by a brother, Mark Anderson (Marsie), and sister, Jan Hollingsworth (Wendell), nieces and nephews, Richard Anderson (Donna), Leslie Anderson, Kevin Anderson (Taavi Yusuf), Amy Hollingsworth, Dawn Garris (Noah), and Jason Hollingsworth (Jigna), Great nephews, Rilan and Marshall, Great Niece, Bayley and by his cats, Shadow and Smokey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Springer Opera House, the Special Fund for Ron Anderson at Columbus Bank and Trust, or St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
