Ronal R. Tomlin went to be with his Savior after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis on September 16, 2011.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Monday September 19, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bobby Trebony officiating. The family will receive freinds from 4-6 PM Sunday at 5220 Woodsey Way, Columbus, GA 31909.
Mr. Tomlin was born December 27, 1938 to the late Woodrow Tomlin and Florence Brogdon Tomlin. After having polio at age two and undergoing numerous miraculous surgeries performed by Dr. Jack Hughston, Ronnie never wanted to be considered disabled. He worked numerous jobs starting with a newspaper route, Bibb Mill, Lummus, Lockheed, Tom's, and the Lower Chattahoochee Regional Development Center. He was acquainted with many dignitaries throughout his career such as Max Cleland and Jimmy Carter and governors and councilmen thoughout Georgia. He had many God given talents that he used to help whoever was in need. He loved sharing his knowledge with others. Ronnie loved life and always had a story to share with whoever he came in contact with. Noone was ever a stranger to him.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Bobby Davis, and a sister-in-law, Berdie Tomlin.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Morris Tomlin of Columbus, GA, children, Toni Darbe (Mike) of Pine Mountain, GA, Amy Tomlin and her fiancee Chris Dover of Knoxville, TN, step-children, Amanda Oaf of Sparta, TN, Michael Crews of Columbus, GA, Travis Crews of Gloverville, SC, grandchildren, Alex Darbe and Austin Darbe, step grandchildren, Meagan Oaf, Kayla Oaf, Tyler Crews and Brooklyn Crews, siblings, Joyce Davis, Ray Tomlin, Jimmy Tomlin (Lynn) and Martha Morris (Byron) all of Columbus, GA, the mother of his children, Vicky Tomlin Stamm of PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
