Rodney Glen Hawkins, 67, of Columbus, GA died Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Jim Hilderbrand officiating.
Mr. Hawkins was born March 18, 1943 in Waco, TX son of the late Olin B. and Clara Lehman Hawkins. He worked in Food Service in his early years and was the co-owner of Deorios Italian Restaurant before his career in retail, where he worked at Tillmans, G. Mansours, and Dillards.
Rodney was a people person, treating people from all walks of life with respect and kindness, and was caring and compassionate to animals. The joy of his life for the last ten years has been Joey and teaching him how to fish, bake cookies and most important, teaching him to pray.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Judith Stout Hawkins of Columbus, GA, loved and cherished by his children, Barney Shea Hawkins, Michael G. Stout, Shannon Stout and Karen Stout, brother, David Hawkins of Springtown, TX, sister, Debbie Harrison of Hillsboro, TX, grandchildren, Chandler Sutherland, Sidney Hawkins and Joey Stout, several nieces and nephews, Barneyâ
