Robert “Rob” T. Schwoebel, 55, of Ellerslie, GA passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 3, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dan Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Rob was born April 8, 1966 in Long Branch, NJ to Ana Igl Rodgers and the late Roland H. Schwoebel. Rob was a dedicated fireman of 25 years and retired as the Assistant Fire Marshall with the Phenix City, AL Fire department. Following his retirement he was dedicated to raising his two small children alongside his wife. He recently embarked on a new career working with Pratt Whitney with their Allied Universal Security Services.
Rob loved spending time with his family and friends, any and all things University of Tennessee, cooking, coaching his kids in soccer and Little League Baseball, working out, playing tennis, golf, and basketball. He and his family attended The River of Life church in Hamilton, GA. Rob was always a bright spot in everyone’s life and never met a stranger. Other than his father he is preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lee Schwoebel.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Brooke Teaster Schwoebel of Ellerslie, GA, children, Jackson Thomas Schwoebel of Cleveland, OH, Robert “Thomas” Schwoebel, Jr. of Ellerslie, GA, Olivia Brooke Schwoebel of Ellerslie, GA, mother, Ana Rodgers of Columbus, GA, brother Ramsey Schwoebel of Enterprise, AL, mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Jean and Todd Wood of Hamilton, GA, and father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Skip and Kathryn Teaster of Salem, AL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to a college fund for Rob’s children Thomas and Olivia at National Financial Services, P.O. Box 1034 Newnan, GA 30264 or to Brooke Schwoebel at 98 Spring Hill Dr. Ellerslie, GA 31807. In the memo please add Thomas and Olivia Schwoebel.
