Robert “Bob” James Stewart Jr., 77, of Ellerslie, GA died Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his residence.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 12:00 Thursday, January 23, 2025 at St. Anne Catholic Church with
burial at Parkhill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:30 to 12:00 at the church 2000 Kay Circle
Columbus, GA 31907 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd.

Bob was born on January 25, 1947 in Camden, NJ to the late Robert James Stewart Sr. and Marian
McGehee Krygier. He was a volunteer at the Ellerslie Fire Department for 35 years. He worked as a
Physician Assistant at St. Francis Hospital for over 20 years. Bob, "Dr Bob", was an EMT/paramedic in
Harris County, GA for over 20+ years. Bob was considered by many to be a trailblazer in Emergency
Medical Services(EMS). Bob taught many EMTs and paramedics who are still serving Columbus and the
surrounding area. Bob also served in the Army National Guard where he served as medical officer on
medical mission trips and at AT.
He was also a member at St. Anne Catholic Church, where he volunteered at the St. Anne Outreach for
many years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Rebecca Bowick Stewart of Ellerslie, GA; daughter,
Courtney Sheats (Jerome) of Ellerslie, Ga; sons, Robert William Stewart (Lindsay Marriott) of Atlanta, Ga,
and Gregory Michael Stewart (Carole) of Lumpkin, GA; brothers, Michael Stewart (LaDawn) of Seabrook,
TX and Edward Stewart of Salem, AL; grandchildren, Kristen Sheats, Ian Stewart, Emily Stewart, and
several great grand children.
