MSgt (Ret.) Robert Eugene Worsham, 78, of Box Springs, GA passed away in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at his residence.
A celebration of life home going service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 26, 2016 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Sam Vernon and Pastor Chip Grantham officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Worsham was born November 13, 1937 in Ft. Valley, GA son of the late William Mitchell and Ruby Wright Worsham. He retired after 22 years in the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam and later retired after 10 years with Civil Service at Ft. Benning. Mr. Worsham attended Sunday School at Golden Acres Baptist Church and was attending services at Box Springs United Methodist Church. He was active with the Box Springs Volunteer Fire Department, coached Little League baseball and Pee Wee football when he lived in Ocean Springs, MS and loved to fish. "Bass feared him worldwide". He loved sharing the Lord and was a true family man.
Other than his parents, Mr. Worsham was preceded in death by his brother, William Lee Worsham (JoAnn).
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dale C. Worsham of Box Springs, GA, two sons, Mark Worsham (Lee) of Ocean Springs, MS, Scotty Worsham of Columbus, MS, two daughters, Gayle Fuller (Jeff) of Box Springs, GA, Faye Brown (Donald) of Salem, AL, one brother, Tom Worsham (Nette) of the Philippines, 12 grandchildren, Carolyn (Brad), Kristian (Cameron), Mandy (Josh), Caleb (Kelsi), Tempa, Trevor, Tommy, Tyler, Hadyn, J.J., Gracyn and McKenna, and 5 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Cardin, Tinley, Cooper and Connor, brother and sisters-in-law Don Coleman (Gloria), Joyce McLendon, many nieces and nephews, extended family, church family and many caring friends.
