MSG (Ret) Robert D. Stuart, 72, of Columbus died Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sungman Park officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. A visitation service will be held 7:30-9:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Stuart was born September 25, 1941 in Beverly, MA, son of the late Albert D. Stuart and Mary Cole Stuart. He retired as a MSG with 30 years of service with the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. He also retired as a Transport Officer with Civil Service at Ft. Bliss, TX and Ft. Benning, GA.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years Hee Kim Stuart of Fortson, GA., sons, Mark Stuart (Katrina) of Clarksville, TN., James Stuart of Cumming, GA., Christopher Stuart of Cumming, GA., sister Mary Stuart of New Hampshire, two grandchildren Amber Stuart and Mark Stuart, Jr., both of Clarksville, TN.
